FOX: Special Tuesday Idol tops night

Live+ Same Day Nielsen Ratings: With a special AMERICAN IDOL Top 10 Girls performance show, FOX won last night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens and virtually all Women and Men demos.  Despite airing out of pattern, AMERICAN IDOL gave FOX a +31% margin of victory over the #2 network, CBS, among Adults 18-49 last night.


AMERICAN IDOL (S): 3.4/9, down -11% from last Wednesday’s fast nationals in Adults 18-49 but was still the highest-rated show of the night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens.

Competition

ABC’s Celebrity Wife Swap (1.5/4) posted its series low, down -38% from last week’s premiere (2.4/7). At 9pm, The Taste (1.2/3) established a new season low, -14% below last week (1.4/4). Body of Proof (1.2/4) was flat week-to-week (vs. 1.2/3), matching its series low with all three telecasts this season.

CBS’ dramas were all down week-to-week, with NCIS dropping -3% (3.3/10 vs. 3.4/10), NCIS: LA -3% (2.8/7 vs. 2.9/8), and Golden Boy -11% from last week’s debut (1.6/5 vs. 1.8/5).

On NBC, a repeat Betty White’s Off Their Rockers at 8pm (1.0/3) was followed by an original telecast at 8:30pm (1.1/3), which fell -15% from last week’s 8:30pm telecast (1.3/4) and posted a new series low. Go On (1.1/3, flat) and The New Normal (0.9/2, down -10%) both tied their previous series lows, while Smash (0.7/2) dropped another -22% and established a new series low. Averaging a 0.9/3 from 8-11p, NBC delivered the lowest-rated Tuesday night of the season with originals on any of the big four broadcast networks, down -18% from its previous Tuesday low average of 1.1/3.
