Last night, FOX’s THE SIMPSONS tied with ABC’s Once Upon a Time as the #1 entertainment program of the night among Adults 18-49.

However, in head to head competition in the 8p half hour, THE SIMPSONS outperformed Once Upon a Time for the second straight week in the core adult demo  (3.7 vs. 3.6).

In addition, THE SIMPSONS and FAMILY GUY were the top 2 entertainment programs of the night among Adults 18-34.

NFL OVER-RUN: 9.6/25 (Note: this is approximate, due to the nature of live sports)
THE O.T.: 6.4/16 (Note: this is approximate, due to the nature of live  sports)
THE SIMPSONS: 3.7/9, down -8% from last week’s Treehouse of Horror episode, but is still above its prior season average
ALLEN GREGORY: 2.1/5 , down -13% from last week’s series debut
FAMILY GUY: 3.0/7, down -6% from last week
AMERICAN DAD: 2.5/6, down -7% from five weeks ago

Overall, FOX’s ANIMATION DOMINATION lineup ranked No. 2 last night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Teens.

Competition

ABC aired an encore of Once Upon a Time at 7p (1.1/3), followed by week three of Once Upon a Time at 8p (3.7/9, down -5%). Desperate Housewives (2.8/6) was down -10% week over week while Pan Am (1.8/4) was flat. Both shows remain down -29% and -22% from ABC’s comparable performances in the time period last Fall (2.9/7 vs. 4.0/10 and 2.1/5 vs. 2.7/7 for Brothers & Sisters).

Following 60 Minutes (2.2/6, down -46%) at 7p, CBS’ Amazing Race (2.6/6) dropped -13% and posted its lowest rated fall telecast ever. The Good Wife (2.1/5, up +5%) was on par at 9p, while CSI: Miami finished the night at a series-low 1.9/5, down -14%.  (Due to local NFL overrun until roughly 7:30p in at least 12.7% of the country, Fast Nationals for CBS are approximate but directionally accurate).

Due to the nature of live sports, Fast Nationals for NBC are approximate. In addition, note that NBC’s 7p NFL Pre-Game will be sustained by Nielsen. Following Football Night In America at 7p (2.0/5), 730p (3.4/8) and 8p (6.1/14), NBC’s Sunday Night Football Game 9: Baltimore Ravens vs. Pittsburgh Steelers posted a 7.9/18 from 8:30-11p, about even with last week’s Sunday night matchup (Dallas Cowboys vs. Philadelphia Eagles), which delivered an 8.2/19 from 8:30-11p in the Fast Nationals before rising to a 9.3/22 from 8:31-11:06p in the Finals.
