Up against significant competition from the AFC Divisional Playoffs and The Golden Globes, last night’s premieres of HUMAN TARGET and ‘24’ were very solid :

24
Last night’s premiere of ‘24’ at 9p posted a 3.8/9 among Adults 18-49, down from last season’s premiere but up +23% from last  season’s finale on 5/18/09 (vs. 3.1/9).  ‘24’ was also up vs. its finale in Total Viewers by +18% (11.4 vs. 9.7 Mil.)

‘24’ was the highest rated drama of the night, besting ABC’s Desperate Housewives and Brothers & Sisters and CBS’s Cold Case.

In the 9-11p time period ‘24’ ranked No. 2 among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 and No. 1 in all key male demos.

HUMAN TARGET
Self-starting at 8p, the series premiere of HUMAN TARGET posted a 2.9/7 among Adults 18-49 and drew 10.1 million viewers.
Competition

On ABC, America’s Funniest Home Videos (1.7/5) was followed by a repeat Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (1.8/4).  Desperate Housewives (3.7/9) and Brothers & Sisters (2.7/7) both posted their lowest ratings ever.

Due to the AFC Division Playoff overrun until 8:07p, Fast Nationals for CBS are approximate.  In the 8p hour the NFL post game and 60 Minutes posted a 4.4/11.  Cold Case and a repeat NCIS delivered approximately a 2.5/6 and 2.1/5, respectively.

On NBC from 7-8p the Golden Globes Arrival special posted a 2.4/6.  From 8-11p, the 67th Annual Golden Globes (4.7/12) was down -4% from last year (4.9/12 on 1/11/09).
