Fox, 'Terra Nova' third-place Monday night

Last night, FOX’s HOUSE and TERRA NOVA both posted week-over-week gains.


Coming back from last week’s late telecast following an MLB over-run, TERRA NOVA posted a 2.7/7 among Adults 18-49, up +8% from last week.  TERRA NOVA also showed impressive growth (+14%) over last week in Total Viewers.)  TERRA NOVA remains TV’s No. 1 new drama this season.

At 9p HOUSE delivered a 3.1/7 among Adults 18-49, up +15% from last week’s late-airing telecast (vs. 2.7/7).  HOUSE gained a significant +22% in Total Viewers over last week and tied as the highest-rated drama of the night in the core adult demo. In addition, HOUSE was the #1 drama of the night among Adults 18-34.

FOX ranked #3 for the night in Adults 18-49, #2 in Adults 18-34 and #1 in Teens.

Competition
ABC’s Dancing with the Stars (3.2/8) was up +7% from last week’s season low, but through five weeks is down -25% vs. its comparable delivery last fall (3.3/8 vs. 4.4/11). Castle (2.6/7) gained +24% from last week’s season low at 10p.

Following How I Met Your Mother (4.1/12, up +2%) and new comedy 2 Broke Girls (4.3/11, flat), CBS’ Two and a Half Men (5.2/13) fell to a season low, down -12% from last week (5.9/14). Two and a Half Men has steadily declined in the four weeks since its season premiere, shedding -51% of its premiere audience (5 week trend: 10.7 > 7.4 > 6.2 > 5.9 > 5.2). Mike & Molly (3.9/9, flat) held steady with last week at 930p, and Hawaii Five-0 (3.1/8) finished the night up +15% from last week’s season low.

From 8-10p, NBC’s The Sing Off (1.6/4) was up +7% versus last week, but through five weeks is down -26% from NBC’s 8-10p average last year (1.7/4 vs. 2.3/6 for Chuck and The Event). A repeat Prime Suspect (0.8/2) closed out the night at 10p.
