Fox: “The Following” ties for 2nd

FOXLast night an original BONES and the series premiere of THE FOLLOWING gave FOX its highest-rated Monday night performance with scripted programming since 1/30/12 among Adults 18-49 and since 1/16/12 in Total Viewers.


·         BONES: 2.3/6, up +10% from last week and posted its most-watched episode so far this season in Total Viewers (8.5 Mil)

·         THE FOLLOWING (P): 3.1/7, tied as the second highest-rated drama debut of the season among Adults 18-49 (tied with Elementary)

o    THE FOLLOWING drew 10.4 mil. Total Viewers last night, outperforming both of FOX’s Monday drama debuts last year: Up +3% vs. Alcatraz (vs. 10.1 Mil) and up +13% vs. Terra Nova (vs. 9.2 Mil)

o    THE FOLLOWING was the highest rated drama of the night in both Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers, outperforming ABC’s Castle, CBS’ Hawaii 5-0 and NBC’s Deception.

o    Last night’s premiere grew from its BONES lead-in by +35% in Adults 18-49 (3.1 vs. 2.3) and +22% in Total Viewers (10.4 vs. 8.5 Mil)

o    In fact, THE FOLLOWING held its audience throughout the night and grew +3% in the core demo in its last half hour.

Competition

ABC’s The Bachelor (2.5/6) and Castle (2.0/5) were both in line with their performances last week (+4% and +5,%, respectively).

CBS ran an original How I Met Your Mother (3.7/10, down -5%), a repeat Big Bang Theory (3.2/8), and originals of 2 Broke Girls (3.7/9, down -10%), Mike & Molly (3.3/8, down -6%), and Hawaii Five-0 (2.2/6, down -8%).

On NBC, The Biggest Loser 14 (2.4/6) remained flat versus last week and tied its season low, while week three of new drama Deception (1.3/3) posted its lowest rating yet, falling another -19% from last Monday (1.6/4).
