Fox the leader Thursday w/ 'American Idol' and 'Bones'

Airing the AMERICAN IDOL Top 7 Results Show and an original BONES, FOX won the night across all key demos and beat the next highest rated network by +110% in Adults 18-49 (4.4 vs. NBC’s 2.1) and +81% in Total Viewers (15.4 vs. CBS’ 8.5 Mil.).


AMERICAN IDOL:  5.6/18, down -13% from last Thursday (but based on recent performance, this will likely go up a couple of tenths in the finals)

IDOL retained 95% of the comparable telecast last year (Top 7 Results on 4/21/10) among Adults 18-49 and was up +4% in Total Viewers

In the 8p hour AMERICAN IDOL beat the combined 4-net competition by +8% in the core adult demo and +18% in Total Viewers.
 
So far this season with Comparable Most Current ratings, AMERICAN IDOL is retaining 96%of Adults 18-49 and is up +2% in Total Viewers versus the same period last season.
 
BONES:  3.2/9, down -9% from last week but still won its hour and was the second most-watched program of the night in Total Viewers (behind only IDOL).
 
Competition
 
ABC’s repeat of Wipeout (1.3/4) was followed by encores of Grey’s Anatomy (1.2/3) and Private Practice (0.8/2) at 9p and 10p.

CBS aired repeats of The Big Bang Theory (1.8/6), Rules of Engagement (1.5/5), CSI (1.6/5) and The Mentalist (2.1/6).
 
On NBC, Community at 8pm posted a 1.5/5, up +7% from last week but down -21% vs. its prior season average (1.9/6). At 8:30pm, week two of The Paul Reiser Show (0.9/3) was down -18% from its debut last week. At 9p Steve Carell’s penultimate episode of The Office posted a 3.3/9, down -18% from last week (4.0/11) and down -11% from is prior season average (3.7/10).  At 9:30p Parks & Recreation (2.5/)7 and a one-hour 30 Rock (2.2/6) were both flat from last week and on par with prior season averages.
