Fox wins 10th straight Wednesday

FOXAiring the AMERICAN IDOL Top 10 Performance Show, FOX won last night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54 and Teens.


FOX beat the next highest-rated network by +75% in Adults 18-49 (4.9 vs. 2.8 for CBS), +127% in Adults 18-34 (3.4 vs. CBS’ 1.5) and +50% in Total Viewers (16.6 vs. 11.1 Mil for CBS).

FOX has now won 10 Wednesdays in a row in Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers.

  • AMERICAN IDOL:  4.9/14, down -9% from last Wednesday but will likely go up to a 5.0 in the finals.
    • IDOL was the #1 program of the night in Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54 and Teens and beat the #2 program of the night (Criminal Minds) by +53% in the core adult demo, +100% among Adults 18-34 and +39% in Total Viewers
    • IDOL grew in its last half hour vs. its first by +29% in Adults 18-49 (5.4 vs. 4.2) and +23% in Total Viewers (17.9 vs. 14.6 Mil.)

In addition, IDOL outperformed this Monday’s telecast of The Voice by an even greater margin than last week in Adults 18-49 (+7% vs. +4%) and in Total Viewers (+38% vs.+27%.)

Competition

Following repeats of The Middle (1.2/4), Suburgatory (1.3/4) and Modern Family (2.0/6), ABC’s original Happy Endings (1.8/5) hit a season low, down -25% from last week. At 10p, a repeat of Missing (1.3/3) closed out the night.

On CBS, Survivor: One World (2.7/8) posted the show’s lowest original rating ever (excluding clipshows), down -10% from last week (3.0/9). At 9pm, Criminal Minds (3.2/8) was up +14% from last week’s series low (2.8/8). Closing out the night, CSI (2.5/7) matched its season low, down -11% week-to-week (2.8/8).

In the 8pm hour, NBC’s Whitney (1.6/5) and Are You There, Chelsea? (1.4/4) improved from last week’s series lows (+14% & +27%, respectively). At 9pm, the series premiere of Bent (1.0/3) delivered NBC’s lowest rated in-season comedy debut ever, down -9% from last year’s mid-season debut of The Paul Reiser Show (1.1/3 on 4/14/11) . Following the second telecast of Bent (0.9/2), Rock Center with Brian Williams (0.7/2) was up +17% from last week (0.6/2).
