FOXTHE X FACTOR gave FOX a victory last night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens.  In fact, FOX out-rated the #2 network of the night (ABC) by +14% in Adults 18-49 (3.3 vs. 2.9) and +36% in Adults 18-34 (3.0 vs. 2.2).


To date, FOX has won every night THE X FACTOR has aired this season.

·         THE X FACTOR: 3.3/9, down only -6% from last week’s fast nationals in Adults 18-49 (3.5/10) and held steady with last week’s fast nationals in Total Viewers (9.4 Mil.) – despite more original competition on the night

o    In addition, THE X FACTOR showed substantial growth in its last half hour vs. its first: +29% in Adults 18-49 (3.6 vs. 2.8) and +25% in Total Viewers (10.1 vs. 8.1 Mil.)

Competition

The season premieres of ABC’s The Middle (2.8/9) and Modern Family (5.5/15) were both down from their comparable debuts last year, dropping -10% and -8%, respectively (from 3.1/9 and 6.0/16 on 9/21/11). With a minute of Modern Family running into its time period, new comedy The Neighbors premiered with a likely-inflated 3.3/9, down -40% from its lead-in but up modestly from Happy Ending’s premiere in the time period last fall (+6% vs. 3.1/8 on 9/28/11). The special clip show Revenge: The First Chapter followed with a 1.6/4 at 10pm.

On CBS, week two of Survivor: Philippines (3.0/9) was down -6% from its season debut last Wednesday (3.2/10). At 9pm and 10pm, Criminal Minds (3.1/8) and CSI (2.5/7) both matched their lowest ratings ever with original fall telecasts, down -24% and -22% from their 11/12 season debuts (4.1/10 and 3.2/9 on 9/21/11).

On NBC, the time period premiere of new comedy Animal Practice posted a 1.4/4, dropping -66% from its post-Olympics preview (4.1/12 on Sunday 8/12/12). At 8:30pm, the official premiere of Guys With Kids (1.6/5) was down -27% from its series debut/preview two weeks ago (2.2/6 on 9/12/12). From 9-11pm, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (2.1/6) delivered its lowest premiere rating ever, down -13% from its 11/12 season launch last year (2.4/6 on 9/21/11).
