Fox: “X Factor” dominates

FOXNOTE: TV usage among Adults 18-49 was down -4% from 8-10pm and -4% from 8-11pm last night versus last Wednesday. Airing THE X FACTOR Season 2 Performance Finale, FOX dominated last night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Teens.  Last night marks FOX’s fourth consecutive Wednesday night win in Adults 18-49, sixth consecutive win in Adults 18-34 and ninth consecutive win in Teens. In fact, THE X FACTOR has led FOX to rank #1 on 11 of 14 Wednesday nights this Fall.


·         THE X FACTOR: 2.7/8, up +4% in Adults 18-49 from last week’s Fast Nationals among Adults 18-49 and even with the finals (Note: This rating is likely to go up a tenth in the finals)

o    In addition, THE X FACTOR was up +6% in Total Viewers (8.3 vs. 7.8 Mil) and +26% in Teens (2.4/9 vs. 1.9/7) compared to the final ratings last Wednesday

o    THE X FACTOR was the highest rated program of the night in Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Teens.

o    While last night’s THE X FACTOR performance finale episode declined year-over year among Adults 18-49 it held steady with the same ratings as last year’s telecast among Adults 18-34 (2.5) and Teens (2.4)

Competition

ABC ran repeats of The Middle (1.4/4),The Neighbors (1.1/3), and Modern Family (1.8/5), followed by the 20/20 special The Year with Katie Couric (1.6/5) from 9:30-11pm, up +7% from last year (12/15/11, 1.5/4).

On CBS, the annual special Home For The Holidays posted a 0.9/3, up +13% from last year (0.8/2 on 12/21/11). Repeats of Criminal Minds (1.4/4) and CSI (1.1/3) aired at 9pm and 10pm.

On NBC, the 61st Annual Miss Universe Pageant posted a 1.8/5 from 8-10pm, up +13% from the 2011 show in early September’11 (1.6/4 on 9/12/11). Closing out the night at 10pm, Chicago Fire (1.9/5) was up +36% from last week’s season low (1.4/4).
