Last night, AMERICAN IDOL and HUMAN TARGET delivered a nightly win for FOX with a 6.1/16 in the adult demo, dominating the next highest-rated network by +85% among Adults 18-49, +104% among Adults 18-34, +250% among Teens and +6% in Total Viewers.
AMERICAN IDOL- Tuesday 01/26/10:
Week three of AMERICAN IDOL-TUE posted an 8.9/24 among Adults 18-49, down -12% from last Tuesday (but given the slight overrun last night, that decline will likely be closer to 8% or 9% once the final Nielsen data comes in)
AMERICAN IDOL’s average so far for the first five telecasts this season is right in-line with the show’s average for the first five telecasts last season. So far, IDOL has retained 96% of its rating among Adults 18-49, 98% among Adults 18-34 and 97% in Total Viewers from last season.
AMERICAN IDOL won the 8p hour among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54, Teens and all key demos. In fact, AMERICAN IDOL outperformed its nearest competitors in the 8p hour by a substantial +117% among Adults 18-49, +204% among Adults 18-34, +363% in Teens and +20% in Total Viewers.
At 9p HUMAN TARGET posted a 3.2/8 among Adults 18-49 and retained 94% of last Wednesday’s episode (3.4/9). In addition, HUMAN TARGET retained 100% of last week’s telecast in Adults 18-34 (2.4/7).
FOX dominated the next highest rated network for the night with advantages of +85% among Adults 18-49 (6.1/16 vs. 3.3/9 for CBS), +104% among Adults 18-34 (5.1/15 vs. 2.5/8 for NBC), +250% among Teens (4.9/17 vs. 1.4/5 for NBC) and +6% in Total Viewers (16.9 vs. 15.9 for CBS).
ABC’s Scrubs (1.2/3) and Better Off Ted (1.0/2) were both low, followed by a special repeat of last year’s two-hour Lost season finale (1.4/4).
On CBS, NCIS posted a 4.1/11, down -5%, while NCIS: LA delivered a 3.8/10, in line with its prior season average. At 10p, the Good Wife (2.1/6) was a repeat.
NBC aired a two-hour Biggest Loser (3.8/10), which was down -7%, and The Jay Leno Show (2.0/6).
