Fox’s Family Guy annoys FNC commentator

Sarah Palin is employed by Fox News Channel as a political analyst, but that didn’t stop a program on Fox Television Network from going after her on FNC’s sister television outlet. An episode of “Family Guy” featuring a Downs Syndrome child of a governor of Alaska has the entire Palin family seeing red.

Palin wrote on her Facebook page, “People are asking me to comment on yesterday’s Fox show that felt like another kick in the gut. Bristol was one who asked what I thought of the show that mocked her baby brother, Trig (and/or others with special needs), in an episode yesterday.” She went on to include a paragraph from her daughter.

Bristol Palin concluded, “If the writers of a particularly pathetic cartoon show thought they were being clever in mocking my brother and my family yesterday, they failed. All they proved is that they’re heartless jerks.”

RBR-TVBR observation: We support freedom of speech, and we recognize that this freedom is blind when it comes to matters of taste. But WE are not blind to matters of taste, and although we support the right of “Family Guy” to run with this episode, we find it sad that they have to resort to this kind of material to fill up their allotted time. It’s not political satire, it’s not funny. It’s just tasteless. This has nothing whatsoever to do with our personal thoughts on Sarah Palin, but if we were the great Washington DC and New York City sports newscaster Warner Wolf, this would easily earn our own special “boo of the week.”
