Fox’s juggernaut ‘American Idol’ just wins, in-line last years pacing

Week three of AMERICAN IDOL-WED posted a 9.1/25 among Adults 18-49 with the likelihood of increasing at least three-tenths because of time shifts due to the State Of The Union. Even now, last night’s AMERICAN IDOL outperformed Tuesday’s episode by +1% in both Adults 18-49 (9.1/25 vs. 9.0/24) and Total Viewers (24.7 vs. 24.5 Mil.)


AMERICAN IDOL’s average so far this year with six telecasts is right in-line with last year’s average, showing retention of 96% among Adults 18-49 (10.2/27 vs. 10.7/26), 97% among Adults 18-34 (9.1/27 vs. 9.4/26) and 96% in Total Viewers (26.9 vs. 27.9 Mil.)

AMERICAN IDOL won the 8p hour among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54, Teens and all key demos.

Due to live coverage of last night’s State of the Union Address, Fast Nationals for ABC, CBS, and NBC are approximate.

Following repeats of Modern Family (1.7/5) and The Middle (1.6/4), ABC’s coverage of the State Of The Union Address delivered a 2.2/6 at 9p while State Of The Union analysis joined a repeat Cougar Town to post a 1.1/3 at 1030p.

The CBS repeats of The New Adventures of Old Christine (1.4/4) and Gary Unmarried (1.4/4) were followed by the State of the Union address from 9-10:30p (1.6/4). The Republican Response and Analysis combined with a special repeat Two & A Half Men (1.0/3) in the 10:30p half hour.

NBC aired a repeat Mercy (1.1/3) at 8p and Presidential address coverage (1.9/5) from 9-1030p. State Of The Union analysis and an Office repeat delivered a 1.3/4 at 1030p.
