Fox's solid 'Bones' second place Thursday 8 p.m.

FOX’s Thursday dramas made gains last night while competitors’ comedies declined across the board:  BONES posted a 2.6/8 among Adults 18-49 and grew +4% week over week.  BONES ranked No. 2 in the 8p hour among Adults 18-49 and No. 1 in Adults 18-34.   In fact, in head to head competition BONES outperformed CBS’ Big Bang Theory / $#*! My Dad Says in the 8p hour by +9% among Adults 18-34 (2.5/8 vs. 2.3/8).


At 9p FRINGE delivered a 2.0/5 and grew +5% versus last week among Adults 18-49. 
 
FOX ranked third for the night in Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

Competition
Following a Grey’s Anatomy repeat at 8p (1.1/4), ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy (4.5/12) delivered its lowest-rated Fall telecast ever, down -2% from last week and  -23% through three weeks versus last Fall ( 4.8/13 vs 6.2/16). Private Practice posted a 2.9/8, on par with its prior season average (3.0/9).

On CBS, The Big Bang Theory (4.0/13) dropped -9% week over week and -13% from its prior season average (4.6/15). At 8:30p, $#*! My Dad Says (2.8/9) continued to weaken and fell -15% from last week and -22% from its prior season average (3.6/11). In fact, $#*! My Dad Says posted CBS’ lowest in-season performance in the Thursday 8:30pm half hour for an original regular program since 1/18/2001 (Diagnosis Murder). At 9p, CSI dropped -13% and registered a series low for an original telecast (2.7/7), while The Mentalist (3.0/9) matched its lowest ever performance in the time period for the second consecutive week.

On NBC, Community (1.7/6) was down -11% week over week and  -15% from its prior average (2.0/7). 30 Rock (2.1/6) drew its lowest regular Thursday original ratings in its five year run, down -19% from both last week and its prior season average (2.6/8). The Office (3.4/9) recorded its lowest-rated Fall telecast ever, and showed a downward trend in its first three weeks of the season (4.4/12 > 3.7/10 > 3.4/9). New comedy Outsourced rated a 2.5/7, declined -11% from last wek and fell -22% from its first two weeks’ average (3.2/9). The Apprentice (1.3/4) matched last week’s all-time franchise low.
