Fox's 'Terra Nova' respectable position Monday

 Airing Week 2 of new drama TERRA NOVA and the Season 8 premiere of HOUSE, FOX posted a +13% year-over-year ratings gain last night (vs. HOUSE and Lie to Me on 10/04/10).
 
TERRA NOVA posted a 3.1 among adults 18-49 and boasts the highest week 2 vs. week 1 retention of any new series on the big four networks.
This gives FOX the top three new series week two vs. week one retention rates: 
TERRA NOVA: 100%
NEW GIRL: 94%
THE X FACTOR: 93%.
 
The season premiere of HOUSE delivered a 3.9 among Adults 18-49, down from last year’s season premiere by only -7% (vs. 4.2/12), but up +15% from its Season 7 finale on 5/23/11 (vs. 3.4/10).
HOUSE was the highest rated drama of the night among Adults 18-49.
 
FOX ranked #2 for the night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 and #1 in Teens. 
 
Competition
ABC’s Dancing with the Stars (3.1/7, down -6%) delivered its lowest rated performance show ever for the second consecutive week, and through three weeks is down -26% versus its comparable performance last fall (3.5/8 vs. 4.7/12) . At 10pm, Castle (2.6/6) dropped -7%.
 
Following How I Met Your Mother (4.5/12, flat), new CBS comedy 2 Broke Girls (4.4/11) dropped -4% from last week. At 9p, week three of Two and a Half Men starring Ashton Kutcher (6.1/14) continued to move closer to the show’s normal ratings performance, down -18% from last week (7.4/17). Mike & Molly followed at a 4.3/10, down -10% from its season premiere last week (4.8/11). Hawaii Five-0 finished the night flat at a 3.2/8.
 
NBC’s The Sing Off (1.8/4) grew +6%, while The Playboy Club (1.2/3) dropped -8% from last Monday. Through three weeks this season, NBC’s new Monday lineup is down -26% from the network’s time period performance last year (1.7/4 vs. 2.3/6 for Chuck, The Event, and Chase).
