Fox’s ‘THE SIMPSONS’ improve their Sunday standings

Last night,11/15/09,  FOX’s animated comedies combined with an NFL over-run to rank No. 2 for the night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 and No. 1 in Teens and Women 18-34.


FOX’s Sunday 8-10p animation lineup is significantly outperforming FOX’s average with regular programming in the time period last season – gaining +21% among Adults 18-49, +25% among Adults 18-34 and +16% in total viewers versus last Fall.
 
At 8p, THE SIMPSONS delivered a 4.2/10 among Adults 18-49, up +2% from its last telecast on October 18. So far this season, THE SIMPSONS has improved upon its Fall’08 average by +11% among Adults 18-49, +11% among Adults 18-34 and +8% in Total Viewers.

At 8:30p THE CLEVELAND SHOW posted a 3.3/8 among Adults 18-49, up +3% compared to its 9:30p telecast last week. So far this season THE CLEVELAND SHOW has outperformed last year’s King Of The Hill Fall average by +33% among Adults 18-49, +43% among Adults 18-34 (and +28% in Total Viewers.

FAMILY GUY at 9p posted a 4.1/10 among Adults 18-49, flat with last week’s performance.  For the 09/10 season FAMILY GUY has out-delivered its Fall’08 average by +21% among Adults 18-49, +21% among Adults 18-34 and +16% in Total Viewers.
 
AMERICAN DAD closed the night at 9:30p with a 2.9/7 among Adults 18-49. So far this season AMERICAN DAD has outperformed last year’s Fall delivery by +14% among Adults 18-49, +14% among Adults 18-34 and +10% in Total Viewers.

Competition
ABC’s America’s Funniest Home Videos (2.2/6), Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (3.6/9), Desperate Housewives (4.9/12) and Brothers & Sisters (3.2/8) were all about average.

On CBS, 60 Minutes (2.2/6) was on par for a night without an NFL lead-in.  At 8p, Amazing Race 15 (3.2/8) was followed by Three Rivers (2.0/5) and Cold Case (2.1/5) which were all meaningfully higher than their low telecasts last week.

Due to the nature of live sports, Fast Nationals for NBC are approximate. In addition, note that NBC’s 7p NFL Pre-Game will be sustained by Nielsen. Following Football Night In America at 7p (2.3/6), 730p (3.0/8) and 8p (5.3/13), NBC’s Sunday Night Football Game 10: Patriots vs. Colts delivered a 7.5/18 from 830-11p, down slightly from Game 8 (Cowboys vs. Eagles) last Sunday, which posted a 7.6/19 in the Fast Nationals before rising to an 8.5/22 from 8:31-11:50p in the Finals.
