Fox's 'The X Factor' second overall in 8pm hour

Thanks to THE X FACTOR results show and an original BONES, FOX won its eighth consecutive Thursday this Fall among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34 and Teens.


In fact, FOX has won every in-season Thursday night since 1/20/11 (26 weeks) in the core adult demo.
                                                           
At 8pm, THE X FACTOR results show (3.3/9) was down -11% from last week, but its retention of its Wednesday rating (+87%) is right in line with typical results vs. performance show retention for competition shows.

THE X FACTOR grew +20% in its second half hour versus its first (3.6 vs. 3.0) in Adults 18-49.
 
BONES followed with a 2.7/7, down -18% against the Grey’s Anatomy fall finale, but is still up +8% vs. last year’s Fall average.
 
Competition
 
ABC drama Charlie’s Angels ended its run at a series-low 1.1/3, down -8% from last week. The Grey’s Anatomy fall finale (4.0/10) gained +11% and an original Private Practice (2.9/8) finished the night up +12% from last week.
 
CBS’ The Big Bang Theory (5.2/15, down -4%) and Rules of Engagement (3.6/9, down -3%) were in line with their recent performances at 8p and 830p. Repeats of Person of Interest (2.0/5) and The Mentalist (1.9/5) closed out the night.
 
NBC’s primetime lineup finished last among the big four networks, as it has done with every Thursday night this season. Following Community (1.5/4, down -12%) and Parks & Recreation (1.8/5, down -14% and tied as it series low), The Office (3.0/7) dropped -6% and remains down -13% from its comparable performance last fall (3.3/8 vs. 3.8/10). At 930p and 10p, Whitney (2.1/5) and Prime Suspect (1.2/3) were flat with their recent performances.
