At 8 p.m. ET, the season finale of “Friday Night Lights” (1.1/5 in 18-49, 3.5 million viewers overall) tied for #1 in the time period in adults 18-49 and is #1 outright among the major networks in adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and all key adult-male demos — men 18-34, men 18-49 and men 25-54 (pending updates). If the tie for #1 in adults 18-49 stands in official nationals, it will mark the eighth time in 10 weeks that “Friday Night Lights” has finished #1 or tied for #1 in the time period in adults 18-49.
“Friday Night Lights” matched its highest 18-49 rating since May 14 and is currently reporting its biggest overall audience since July 9. Week to week, “Friday Night Lights” is up 22 percent in 18-49 rating (1.1 vs. 0.9) and 13 percent in total viewers (3.5 million vs. 3.1 million).
From 9-11 p.m. ET, “Dateline NBC” averaged a 0.9/3 in adults 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers overall. In the two-hour time period, “Dateline” tied for #1 among the major networks in women 25-54.
In Late-Night Metered Markets Friday night:
In Nielsen’s 56 metered markets, household results were: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 2.6/6; CBS’s “Late Show with David Letterman,” 1.9/5 with an encore; and ABC’s “Nightline,” 2.6/6; and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” 1.4/4.
In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, adult 18-49 results were: “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” 0.8/4; “Late Show,” 0.5/2 with an encore; “Nightline,” 1.0/4; and “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” 0.5/3.
At 12:35 a.m., “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” (1.3/4 in metered-market households) beat CBS’s “Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” (1.1/3). In the 25 markets with Local People Meters, “Late Night” (0.5/3 in 18-49) topped “Late Late Show” (0.3/2).
At 1:35 a.m., Last Call with Carson Daly” averaged a 0.8/3 in metered-market households with an encore and a 0.3/2 in adults 18-49 in the 25 markets with local people meters.
