From Titletown To ‘Doo-Dah’ For iHeart’s Latest Market Leader

Here’s a bit of trivia the new Market President for iHeart’s “Doo-Dah” market may want to know to truly feel like a local.

“Doo-Dah” is what many affectionately call Wichita. In this Kansas municipality, iHeartMedia is giving its top leadership role to a radio industry veteran who was most recently VP/GM of Cumulus Media‘s Green Bay, Wisc., cluster.

The role is now being held by Don Pollnow. He’ll have direct oversight of iHeart’s four stations in Wichita: Country KZSN “102.1 The Bull,” AC KRBB “B98”, CHR/Pop KZCH “Channel 96.3,” and Alternative KTHR “Alt 107.3.”

Pollnow will report to Taylor Walet, Region President for iHeartMedia, based in Omaha.

“We are very fortunate to have the leadership of such an accomplished industry veteran,” Walet said. “Don has such an extensive track record and we look forward to his superb leadership and influence that he will bring to the table as iHeartMedia Wichita builds on its many past successes.”

Pollnow has worked for Lynn Martin’s LM Communications, as a NSM in Lexington, Ky.

Before that, he was GM of NRG Media’s Wausau-Stevens Point, Wisc., stations.

He’s also served as GM of Renda Broadcasting’s Oklahoma City stations, and was at iHeart predecessor Clear Channel as GM of its Little Rock cluster from September 2004-September 2006.
