FTC Sends on Body Slimming Cream Restitution

FTC / Federal Trade CommissionL’Occitane, Inc. put out a pair of skin creams that it claimed would help users lose weight. It turns out that they did nothing of the sort, and consumers who fell for the company’s deceptive advertising are getting refunds from the FTC.


The company used magazine ads to sell the products.

The products were sold both online and in stores. The company charged $48 for seven ounces of Almond Shaping Delight and $44 for 6.7 ounces of Almond Beautiful Shape

The amount of the restitution being disbursed will be commensurate with the damage each affected consumer suffered individually.

In all, 10,600 checks totally $416,000 are going out.
