The Senate Commerce Committee has withdrawn its planned grilling of prospective FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski scheduled for next Tuesday. The Committee Communications Director Jamie Smith said that a bipartisan decision was reached to hold off until after the Memorial Day recess.
RBR/TVBR observation: There was widespread speculation that Genachowski’s progress was impeded early on as he needed time to disentangle himself from personal business arrangements. Now it seems we’re waiting for the Republicans to decide on a replacement for Deborah Taylor Tate.
