The toner is barely dry on the White House announcement of the nomination of Republican Robert McDowell for another term as FCC Commissioner. Wasting no time, the Senate Commerce Committee has teed him up for a confirmation hearing, and will also tee up long-waiting Democratic Chairman nominee Julius Genachowski right along with him. The hearing is on the books for Tuesday, 6/16/09 at 2:30PM.
RBR/TVBR observation: Each party gets a commissioner – this should sail through. Now we’ll see how long it takes Democrat Mignon Clyburn (D) and Republican Meredith Atwell-Baker to do their own two-step through the committee.
