“THIS WEEK” IS #1 AMONG TOTAL VIEWERS – THIRD CLEAN WIN THIS YEAR — AND #2 IN ADULTS 25-54
CALENDAR YEAR TO DATE “THIS WEEK” CLOSES TOTAL VIEWING GAP WITH “MEET” BY 62%
On Sunday, November 29, ABC News’ “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” was the #1 Sunday morning show among Total Viewers, outperforming both NBC’s “Meet the Press” and CBS’ “Face the Nation,” according to Nielsen Media Research. Last Sunday marks the third clean win for the Sunday morning program among Total Viewers this year and the first since August 2, 2009 (regular/full coverage shows only). In the key Adults 25-54 demographic, “This Week” placed second, again outperforming “Meet.”
“This Week” continues to narrow the total viewing and demo gaps with “Meet” for the calendar year to date. Among Total Viewers for 2009 so far, “This Week” has closed the gap with “Meet” by 62% (490,000 in 2009 vs. 1,280,000 in 2008) compared to the same time period a year ago. Among Adults 25-54, the gap has been cut by 55% (200,000 in 2009 vs. 440,000 in 2008) versus the same time period last year
On Sunday, November 29, George Stephanopoulos’ guests were Senators Lindsey Graham
(R-SC) and Bernie Sanders (I-VT). The roundtable featured George Will, Cokie Roberts, Paul Krugman, Matthew Dowd, and Dan Senor.
George Stephanopoulos is the anchor of “This Week” and Ian Cameron is the executive producer. The program airs Sundays on the ABC Television Network.
