Georgia FM station sold

Roy Jaynes spent over 20 years working in radio in Jacksonville FL. He’ll be in a much smaller pond, but wearing the owner’s cap, when his deal to acquire WLEL-FM Ellaville GA reaches the finish line.

Ellaville is a crossroads town in unrated territory some distance to the southeast of Columbus GA. According to brokerage Kozacko Media Services, the station carries a Black Gospel format with 4.8 kW off a 328’ stick on 94.3 MHz.

The seller is Gary Hess, president of Broadcast Tower Management. He’ll receive $260K in exchange for the station.
