'GLEE' the winner for Fox Tuesday

Airing Week 2 of its new Tuesday night comedy block, FOX won the night among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens and virtually all male and female demos and out-rated its nearest competitor (CBS) by +24% in the adult demo.


GLEE Last night’s Britney Spears-themed episode of GLEE posted a 5.8/16, its highest rating ever among Adults 18-49, up +4% from last week’s premiere (5.6/16).  GLEE also grew +6% in Total Viewers (13.1 Mil. vs 12.5 Mil).

This is the first time in 17 years that the highest rated entertainment program of premiere week (GLEE) grew in week two among Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers (since Fall’93, Seinfeld).
Last night’s GLEE was FOX’s highest rated Fall live-action comedy telecast in eight years among Adults 18-49 (since 10/29/02, That 70’s Show) and nine years among Total Viewers (since 11/18/01, Malcolm in the Middle).

GLEE was the highest rated program of the night in Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 and won its 8p hour among Adults 18-49, Adults 18-34, Teens, Adults 25-54, Women 18-49/18-34/25-54 and Men 18-49/18-34.

RAISING HOPE:  At 9p week two of RAISING HOPE posted a 3.2/9 among Adults 18-49, up +3% from last week’s premiere in both Adults 18-49 (3.1/8) and Total Viewers (7.5 vs. 7.3 Mil.)

RUNNING WILDE: Week two of new comedy RUNNING WILDE delivered a 2.1/5 among Adults 18-49, down -13% from last week’s premiere (2.4/6). 

Competition
At 8p, new ABC drama No Ordinary Family posted a 3.1/9, down -40% from the network’s most recent fall premiere in the time period (5.2/14 for V on 11/3/2009). At 9p, the Dancing With The Stars results show (3.7/10) was down -16% from its season premiere one week ago (4.4/11). At 10p, week two of Detroit 1-8-7 delivered a 2.2/6, underperforming last week’s series premiere (2.3/7) while dropping -41% from its DWTS lead-in.

On CBS, NCIS (4.0/11) was flat versus its premiere, but declined -17% from its year-ago delivery (4.8/14 on 9/29/09). At 9p, NCIS: LA (3.7/10) increased from last week but fell -10% year-to-year (4.1/11). At 10p, the season two premiere of The Good Wife posted a 2.5/7, dropping -19% from its premiere last year (3.1/9 on 9/22/09) and -32% from its lead-in.

On NBC, The Biggest Loser (2.7/7) posted its lowest regular original rating in nearly two years (since 2.6/7 on 11/25/2008), falling two tenths from its premiere last week (2.9/8) and -13% from week two of the competition last fall (3.1/8 on 9/22/09). At 10p, Parenthood (2.0/6) posted its lowest original rating ever, dropping -26% from its Biggest Loser lead-in and -20% week-to-week (2.5/7).
