GMA Grows in total viewers week-to-week and season-to-date


ABC’s “Good Morning America” averaged 4.54 million Total Viewers and a 1.4/10/1.74 million among Adults 25-54 for the week of January 3, 2011.  “GMA” grew compared to the prior week by +4% in Total Viewers and +12% among Adults 25-54. 

Season to date, “GMA” is up +4% in Total Viewers versus its year-ago average (NBC’s “Today” is down -4%, CBS’ “Early Show” is flat).

            Compared to the same week last year, “GMA” narrowed the weekly total viewing gap (960,000) by -33% with “Today.”  In fact, “GMA” has closed the total viewing gap with “Today” versus the same week last year for the 5th week in a row and for 15th time in 16 weeks of the season.

“GMA” outperformed CBS’s “Early Show,” with its new anchor team, by 1.72 million Total Viewers and by 520,000 Adults 25-54 viewers, increasing its weekly Adults 25-54 margin over the CBS program by +5%.  In addition, “GMA” improved its advantage over “Early Show” by +13% in Total Viewers compared to the same week last year.
