Sorting out the nominees for The Gracie Awards for 2015 is due for the weekend of 1/23/15, but in view of demand for a nomination deadline extension, the Alliance for Women in Media Foundation has done just that.
Nominations will now be accepted until midnight eastern time on Wednesday 1/14/15.
The awards are handed to creators of “exemplary programming created for women, by women and about women in all facets of media, including radio, television, cable and new media.”
“The response from the media community around the Gracies this year has been exceptional,” said Alliance for Women in Media Foundation Executive Director Debra Hurston. “The calls and emails we have received requesting an extension were overwhelming. We understand that this is a busy season for everyone and extending the submission deadline was the right thing to do.”
Winners will be revealed in mid- to late-February. After that, there are two different awards events, detailed by AWMF:
The Gracie Awards Gala, which honors the national/network/syndicated winners, will be hosted in Los Angeles, California at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on May 19, 2015 at 6 p.m.
Gracies for the local, public, online and student levels will be awarded at the Gracies Luncheon, hosted at the New York Hilton Hotel, June 22, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. recognize exemplary programming across a wide spectrum of media, national and local markets, and content areas.
