Dr. Sanjay Gupta said he’d rather perform brain surgery – and continue his career with CNN – rather than take a government job, even if that job would have nominally made him the top surgeon in the USA. Some had speculated that the Obama administration was courting Gupta in order to capitalize on his ease before the camera, seeing him as a potent salesman for an aggressive health care reform agenda.
