Public radio station KWMU-FM St. Louis has found its stocking stuffed. Anonymous donors have given the station $50,000 to establish a St. Louis Public Radio Classical Music Endowment Fund.

“This generous gift is a validation of the St. Louis community’s passion for the broadcasting of classical music.” said Tim Eby, General Manager. “We are extremely grateful for the generosity displayed from our anonymous donors, and we pledge to continue broadcasting classical music for many years to come.”

KWMU has a full-time Classical channel as one of its three digital broadcast channels (KWMU HD-3), all of which are also streamed online. Live broadcasts of the St. Louis Symphony air Saturday evenings on the primary analog/HD-1 channel, along with “From the Top” and “SymphonyCast.”

The same anonymous donors have pledged an additional $10,000 to St. Louis Public Radio if the station is able to raise an additional $50,000 for the Classical endowment.
