He is bullish on Imus

Citadel CEO Farid Suleman says the upside for putting Don Imus on WABC-AM New York is huge and he’s also gung-ho on the syndication prospects. "I think he’s going to be even more exciting than he was before," Suleman said. And while expenses are going to be up at WABC, he expects the station to make more money than it did before. Suleman told analysts that Imus will also play a big role in ABC Radio Networks’ still-young effort to expand its 10-second business. The CEO is also bullish on Arbitron’s PPM rollout, noting how both WABC-AM and WPLJ-FM jumped in this week’s first NYC "non-currency" numbers. Suleman sounds like he can hardly wait for PPM to get to Chicago, where, given past PPM market experiences, Talk WLS-AM and Oldies WZZN-FM look to be ratings gainers when the new ratings system is inaugurated in March 2008.
