Savoy-Smith Is Zachary’s Successor At Entercom/Washington

In an appointment that diversity and inclusion advocates will likely cheer, Entercom has handed the SVP/Market Manager role for its Washington, D.C., station group gained from its tax-free merger with CBS Radio to its cluster VP/Director of Sales.

She replaces Phil Zachary, who is now serving in what Entercom calls “a corporate role working on special projects.”

Now in control of Sports WJFK-FM 106.7, Classic Hits WIAD-FM 94.7 “The Drive”, Tropical WLZL-FM “El Zol 107.9,” Spanish-language Sports WJFK-AM 1580, and heritage CHR/Rhythmic WPGC-FM 95.5 — in addition to WPGC HD3 brand “Connecting Vets” — is Ivy Savoy-Smith.

The move is immediate.

Savoy-Smith reports to Bob Philips, Entercom’s Chief Revenue Officer and Regional President.

“During her time here at Entercom, Ivy has embodied leadership, strategic thinking, accountability and hard work,” said Philips. “She is a forward thinker who has produced undeniable results and we are excited to have her lead Entercom/Washington D.C. into the new decade.”

Savoy-Smith added, “I’m grateful to Bob for giving me this opportunity to begin this new chapter of my career. Working at Entercom has been an unbelievable experience and I look forward to putting my stamp on the D.C. cluster and leveraging the power of radio to continue to give back to the local community.”

Savoy-Smith has nearly 30 years of experience in the media industry and has been in her current role since 2017.

She’s a longtime cluster sales pro, and before the Reverse Morris Trust-fueled merger was Director of Integrated Sales and Special Events for CBS Radio in Washington.

She was previously LSM for WPGC, and NTR Director for the cluster from May 2007-January 2011. She began her career in 1997 as an AE for WGMS-FM 103.5 in Washington, the former Classical station owned by Bonneville International Corp.
