The Texhoma region of the Texas Panhandle, close to the borders of Oklahoma and New Mexico, is largely flat and full of farmland. Where U.S. 87 shifts west from Amarillo is the town of Dumas, made famous some 90 years ago in the song “I’m a Ding Dong Daddy from Dumas.”

That song is paid tribute to in a set of a call letters used by an AM/FM combo that’s being sold to a Tennessee-based operation known asĀ Highway 64 Radio.
