Hispanic noncom picks up a pair of FM CPs

Radio Bilingue Inc. is getting a pair of sticks-to-be in a pair of western states. The FM CPs are coming from Praise Temple Way of the Church of Christ Inc., headed by Eugene McCrea. Leonor Lizardo and Hugo Morales are among the leaders of the buyer.

The price will be $25K, and the contract is unusually detailed in spelling out where it’s all going. A $2K deposit will go to the seller, as will another $8K upon closing. AS for the rest of it, $10K is going to World Radio Link for engineering services and $5K is going to AIM Brokerage Services for, well, brokerage services.

One of the CPs will be licensed to Alamosa CO. It’ll be a Class C2 on 89.1 MHz with 40 kW @ -223’.

The other will be licensed to Raton NM. It’ll be a Class C1 on 88.9 MHz with 11.5 kW @ 1,061’.

Radio Bilingue will apply for 18 month extension to build out the CPs, and like many non-commercial groups, will also ask for waivers of the main studio rule.

RBR-TVBR note: If you read this article, chances are you have more than a casual interest in the buying and selling of media properties. Much of what goes into a deal goes into the contract, and knowing what kinds of things should go into the contract can help you make a better deal. RBR-TVBR has just the book for you: a guide to deal-craft that will pay for itself.
