Hog Radio acquiring an AM DIY project

SoldIf a Hog spends some cash to get an as-yet-unbuilt AM station in the Fayetteville AR area, is it getting ready to add a piglet to its family of local stations? That’s the scenario in the works, thanks to seller Johnson Communications.

Hog Radio Inc. is headed by Jay W. Bunyard and Teresa S. Bunyard. The seller in the deal is headed by Dewey Johnson.

The price: $75K cash.

The CP is earmarked for Bethel Heights AR, operating on 1340 kHz with 1 kW-U, ND.

Hog filed a local consolidation report with the paperwork it sent to the FCC indicating that when built, the station would become part of a double-duopoly, or in other words, a two-AM two-FM local cluster.

Hog’s other stations in the market include 1290 kHz KUOA-AM Siloam Springs AR and 99.5 MHz KAKS-FM Huntsville AR, both of which use a sports format; and 101.5 MHz KFMD-FM Greenland AR, a classic hits outlet.
