The House Energy and Commerce Committee will make the final touches to the Satellite Home Viewer Extension And Reauthorization Act Of 2004, better known as SHVERA, this week. The session is scheduled for Thursday 6/25/09 at 10AM.
RBR/TVBR observation: One of the big bones of contention on this bill was the satcasters’ desire to be able to import broadcast signals from adjacent markets under certain conditions, a matter opposed by broadcasters. At last week’s hearing, it appeared that most legislators were more interested in getting this Act passed and leaving the adjacent market plank out of it.
