The breather granted broadcasters by elements of the House Energy and Commerce committee is officially over. The Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, and the Internet got back on the job last week, and is continuing today with a hearing on “The Satellite Home Viewer Act.
This session, scheduled for 10AM, is about the renewal of an existing bill. As usual, the main battle will likely be over broadcaster’s insistence on local into local service versus the satcasters’ desire to import distant signals instead.
Later in the week, another House E&C subcommittee will look into behavioral advertising, which is an internet marketing issue.
