Some automakers have dropped AM radio from their electric vehicles, citing interference issues to the radio signal from the engine.
BMW was one of the first to do so, dropping AM from its i3, but now BMW blog reports some i3 drivers want their AM back, and have complained about the situation on blogs and even tried to “hack AM radio back into their cars,” according to the report.
