Hitachi Kokusai is following recommendations by the U.S. government and health authorities to minimize risks for its employees, customers and their families during the global COVID-19 pandemic.

“We have implemented procedures to allow employees to work remotely whenever possible,” the Woodbury, N.Y.-based U.S. operations center notes. “We are also reducing the physical presence of staff in our New York and Los Angeles facilities.”

Hitachi Kokusai is promoting virtual meetings and avoiding physical meetings, whenever possible.

“We have access to web-based teleconference tools for customer communications and virtual meetings,” it says. “We’re asking our sales and service teams to work with customers through digital channels as much as possible. Maintaining a high level of responsiveness to meet our customers’ needs is very important to us. This moment reminds us that we’re all connected like never before. We’re called upon to be our best selves, with patience, understanding and compassion.”
