Does the Commission have a big problem with how it looks at a big, complex merger?


Daniel Lyons, an associate professor at Boston College Law School who is also a visiting fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, very much thinks so.

“Last week Senate Republicans moved to streamline merger review procedures at the FCC,” he says. “These reforms are long overdue and were quickly greeted with approval by Commissioners Michael O’Rielly and Brendan Carr. But as welcome as these provisions are, I am struck by how little the bill dares to dream.”
