iHeart Expands A Live Streaming Rights Pact

In January a digital media company focused on live entertainment forged a partnership with the nation’s No. 1 owner of radio stations that led to the live streaming of the 2019 edition of a themed Alternative Rock event in Los Angeles.


The partnership for the “ALTer Ego” event must have been a success, as iHeartRadio has widened its agreement with LiveXLive Media to give the West Hollywood, Calif.-based company exclusive worldwide live sreaming rights to 17 iHeart-branded events in 2019.

In addition to ALTer Ego, staged at the Forum in Inglewood, Calif., LiveXLive will offer streamed coverage of the iHeartCountry Festival, iHeartRadio Wango Tango, Daytime Stage at the iHeartRadio Music Festival and iHeartRadio Fiesta Latina — as well as licensing and streaming rights for select “iHeartRadio Theater” shows.

The iHeartRadio Theaters are located in New York and Los Angeles and are designed bring fans intimate performances from top recording artists as well, unique events such as exclusive iHeartRadio Album Release Parties.

The partnership will also feature new co-produced and co-promoted video content for fans including a co-created iHeartRadio channel on LiveXLive built on an extensive library of content.
