After Nine Years, An iHeart Sales Pro Returns

In September 2009, Clear Channel’s Minneapolis-St. Paul cluster said goodbye to an account executive who arrived 2 1/2 years earlier from a role in print sales for Southwest Newspapers.

Roughly nine years later, following stints at the region’s top newspaper and, after that, at Comcast Spotlight, he’s back at the radio stations — and a company now known as iHeartMedia.

Now serving as VP/Sales of iHeartMedia’s Minneapolis-St. Paul cluster is Dave Jansen. He’ll be directing the sales efforts of iHeartMedia’s nine radio brands, in addition to its franchise partnerships with the market’s NFL and NHL teams and the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.

He reports to Greg Alexander, RVP/Sales for iHeartMedia’s Western Great Lakes Region.

“We are extremely excited to have a person of Dave’s skill set join the iHeart Minneapolis team,” said Alexander. “Dave’s wealth of experience and vast knowledge of the industry will benefit both our sales team and clients.”

From July 2015 through earlier this month, Jansen served as the Interactive Sales Manager for Comcast Spotlight. From March 2010-June 2015, he was a digital lead for majors and national accounts at the Star Tribune.

“This is an extraordinary time to work in media, particularly as the lines between traditional and digital media continue to blur,” said Jansen. “iHeartMedia is a leader in the audio, content and promotional space, reaching massive audiences daily. I am beyond excited to work with the teams in Minneapolis and the Western Great Lakes Region, sharing this story with our advertisers.”
