MicrophoneIan Bayne was involved in politics in Massachusetts before moving home to his native Illinois, where among other things he hosts a pair of related syndicated radio programs. He is thinking about challenging the incumbent US Rep in the 11th Congressional District.

Bayne is from Aurora, a community to the west of Chicago. The district is currently served by Bill Foster (D-IL), who won in 2012 with 58% of the vote.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Bayne believes the district needs to be served by a Republican, but not if that Republican is simply going to go along with the Democratic agenda.

He says his focus will be on strengthening small business, which he labels the path for average citizens to become wealthy citizens.

Bayne hosts a weekend hour long program called Behind the News with Ian Bayne, and also a 90-second daily feature called The Right Direction. According to the Sun-Times, he currently has 16 affiliates.
At the moment the campaign is in the exploratory stage.

If Bayne does decide to run, that will likely force his programs off the air pending the results of any election he enters.
