In like Flynn: Genachowski hires a transactions guru

FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski has named John Flynn to be Senior Counsel to the Chairman for Transactions. His initial project will be to oversee the team considering the proposed merger between Comcast and NBC Universal.


“I am delighted that John has joined our team to help drive the agency’s review of this major proposed transaction,” said Genachowski. “The FCC staff has been working hard to analyze all issues presented by the proposed merger, and John’s legal expertise and broad experience will help to ensure that the Commission’s review is thorough, fair, and efficient.”

Flynn has clerked for Supreme Court justices Justices Byron R. White and John Paul Stevens, and has stints with communications and software companies on his resume, including ICO Global Communications, Commerce One and  rStar Broadband Networks. He also practice communications and intellectual law with firm WilmerHale and Munger, Tolles & Olson.
