Auto Insurers Continue To Dominate Spot Cable


The lead seen by GEICO in the latest Media Monitors Spot Ten Cable report over the No. 2 advertiser using spot cable is astounding.

That said, GEICO’s competitors are present in the latest report, with efforts by State Farm, Liberty Mutual Insurance and Progressive all present.

For the week ending Dec. 29, 2019, some 79,322 spots from GEICO were detected by the iHeartMedia-owned Media Monitors.

“LiMu” — getting notice for its Limu Emu and DougĀ campaign — is No. 5.

Progressive is No. 7, while State Farm is No. 10.

Meanwhile, is new in the Spot Ten, as are AEW All Elite Wrestling and Peloton, which lit up social media earlier this month for a controversial campaign involving the gift of a bike to a woman from her male companion some viewed as sexist.
