Inside Edition not in Jeopardy as WROC expands news

Nexstar’s WROC-TV (CBS) Rochester, NY announced plans to expand its “News 8 News at 5” to a full hour, beginning September 8. With that additional half hour, the news department headed by News Director Jerry Walsh will be programming five and a half hours of news each weekday on WROC and Sinclair’s WUHF-TV (Fox), for which WROC provides services.

Expanding the newscast will not kick “Inside Edition” off the air in Rochester. Instead, it will move to 4:00 pm, where “Montel” is running. The show will cease production this fall as Montel Williams retires. “Jeopardy” at 4:30 will fill the remainder of the hour, with different episodes than those airing on WROC at 7:30 pm.
