Investors on both sides of two-market TV deal

SoldTTBG LLC picked up a number of television stations out of the Pappas bankruptcy. Many of TTBG’s investors also took a position with NRJ Holdings. Now TTBG is selling stations in San Francisco and Houston to NRJ.

In Houston, the station is indy KUBE-TV Baytown TX.

In San Francisco, the station is KTNC-TV Concord CA, an affiliate of Estrella. That station will form a duopoly with NRJ’s KCNS-DT San Francisco, which carries MundoFox programming.

The price for KUBE will be $19M; and KTNC is fetching $13.5M. In the KUBE deal, the buyer will also pay money used by the seller to acquire needed master control equipment prior to closing.

Ted Bartley and Robert Andrews are two of the principals of NRJ.

The roster of individuals with a stake in both the seller and buyer is a good bit longer. It includes J. Daniel Sullivan, U. Bertram Ellis Jr., David Pulido, Janet Schoff, James V. Sandry and W. Lawrence Patrick.
