Is Auction Worth It for TV Owners?


FCCSome broadcast owners have shown an initial interest in taking part in the auction while others haven’t wanted to tip their hands to competitors, and have kept their plans close to the vest.

Now that the commission has released the minimum opening bids for the planned incentive auction and application instructions, executives roll up their sleeves and put pencil to pad or keyboard to computer spreadsheets, to determine if it’s worth it financially.

By releasing the figures on Friday, the agency is giving broadcast executives 60 days to make a decision.
