A New VP of Research and Chief Scientist Arrives at iZotope Inc.

Audio technology firm iZotope Inc. is welcoming a Vice President of Research and Chief Scientist to its Cambridge, Mass., headquarters.


As a member of the research team reporting to Chief Technology Officer Jonathan Bailey, Dr. Jean-Marc Jot will join iZotope to lead the company’s efforts in advanced scientific research, expanding and deepening iZotope’s investigations into applications of machine learning and digital signal processing technology for audio.

Dr. Jot, who is renowned for his work in sound spatialization, immersive audio and artificial reverberation, joins iZotope from secretive Plantation, Fla.-based Magic Leap, where he was Vice President and Head of Audio & Media.

Jot previously served as Senior Vice President and Head of Research & Development at DTS, as well as Research Fellow at Creative Labs and Research Scientist at IRCAM.

As VP of Research and Chief Scientist, Dr. Jot will spearhead the scientific discovery of enabling technologies for iZotope and collaborate across the organization on product vision. As part of this work, he will oversee the audio research team and drive the company’s advanced technology strategy and roadmap.
