Jacobs is one radio outpost closer to surrounding Tri-Cities WA

SoldA deal for KWCQ-FM Condon OR will bring a third FM into the portfolio of Jacobs Radio Programming. They have no common primary contour overlap, and none of them are in a radio market, but they are all in the general vicinity of Tri-Cities WA.

The buyer is headed by Jeffery Huffman. The seller is Haystack Broadcasting Inc., headed by Danny V. Manciu.

The price for the station is a modest $12.5K, payable in full “at or before” 9/28/12. A very unusual contract clause (part of an unusually bare-bones contract) states that the parties will not even file the FCC Form 314 transaction application until the payment has been submitted.

KWCQ is a Class C1 on 106.1 MHz with 17 kW at 916’. It operates to the southwest of Tri-Cities.
The other two stations owned by Jacobs cover two of the eight compass points left. KLKY-FM Stanfield OR is south of Tri-Cities, and KWDR-FM Royal City WA serves an area to the north of the market.

Time will tell if Jacobs will add the NE, E, SE, W and NW stations it will need to complete the set.
