‘Jay Leno’ delivers his biggest Monday in weeks

At 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” averaged a 1.4 rating, 4 share in adults 18-49 and 6.5 million viewers overall.  From its first half-hour to its second, “Law & Order: SVU” increased its 18-49 rating by 7% (to a 1.5 from a 1.4), its adult 18-34 rating by 11% (1.0 vs. 0.9) and its women 18-34 rating by 17% (1.4 vs. 1.2). 


At 9 p.m. ET, a second rebroadcast of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” delivered a 1.6/4 in adults 18-49 and 5.8 million viewers overall.  From its first half-hour to its second, the 9 p.m. “Law & Order: SVU” increased its 18-49 rating by 20% (to a 1.8 from a 1.5).

From 10-11 p.m. ET, “The Jay Leno Show” is currently averaging a 1.4/4 in adults 18-49, a 1.7/4 in adults 25-54 and 4.7 million viewers overall.  The time-period competition included CBS’s “CSI: Miami” rebroadcast and ABC’s “Castle,” plus the Baltimore-Green Bay NFL game on ESPN. 

“The Jay Leno Show” matched its highest Monday 18-49 and 25-54 ratings in eight weeks (since October 12) and delivered its biggest overall Monday audience in six weeks (since October 26).  “Jay Leno” is up week-to-week by 17% in 18-49 (1.4 vs. 1.2), 31% in adults 25-54 (1.7 vs. 1.3) and 12% in total viewers (4.7 million vs. 4.2 million).

Comparisons with Jay Leno’s 2008-09 averages at 11:35 p.m. ET on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” are: in adults 18-49 (1.4 vs. 1.4), adults 25-54 (1.7 vs. 1.8) and total viewers (4.7 million vs. 5.1 million).  Comparisons with NBC’s Monday-through-Friday 10-11 p.m. ET non-sports averages over the 52 weeks prior to Jay’s debut are: in adults 18-49 (1.4 vs. 2.2), adults 25-54 (1.7 vs. 2.7) and total viewers (4.7 million vs. 6.9 million).

 

In Late-Night Local People Meters Monday night:

Conan O’Brien (0.9/4 in 18-49 in local people meters) trailed CBS’s LATE SHOW (1.1/4) in Nielsen’s 24 local markets with People Meters.

At 12:35 a.m., Jimmy Fallon (0.5/3 in 18-49 in local people meters) trailed CBS’s LATE LATE SHOW (0.7/4). 

For the Week of November 30-December 6:

For the week, NBC finished #2 in adults 18-49, averaging a 2.6/7 in 18-49 and 7.7 million viewers overall.  NBC is also #2 in adults 18-34 and adults 25-54 for the week.

NBC SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL is the #1 primetime telecast of the week in adults 18-49.  It’s the 12th telecast in a row of NBC SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL to top the weekly 18-49 ranker (excluding NFL pre- and post-game shows, includes a tie with the Thursday NFL season opener).  “The Office,” “The Biggest Loser” and “30 Rock” also ranked in the top 20 for the week.
