‘Jay Leno’ on Tuesday is the same ‘Jay Leno’

From 10-11 p.m. ET, “The Jay Leno Show” averaged a 1.8/5 in adults 18-49; a 2.1/5 in adults 25-54 and 5.2 million viewers overall.  Last night’s time-period competition included CBS’s original “The Good Wife” and ABC’s encore “The Forgotten.”


In the time period, “The Jay Leno Show” ranked #2 among the major networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and all other key ratings categories except men 18-34, where “Jay Leno” ranked #1.

“The Jay Leno Show” finished within 0.1 of a rating point of the 1.9 rating it averaged in the month of November with a lead-in from “The Biggest Loser.”.

Versus Jay Leno’s 2008-09 average at 11:35 p.m. ET on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” comparisons for last night’s telecast are: in adults 18-49, 1.8 vs. 1.4; adults 25-54, 2.1 vs. 1.8; and total viewers, 4.9 million vs. 5.2 million. 

Comparisons with NBC’s Monday-through-Friday 10-11 p.m. ET non-sports averages over the 52 weeks prior to Jay’s debut are: in adults 18-49, 1.8 vs. 2.2; in adults 25-54, 2.1 vs. 2.7; and in total viewers, 5.2 million vs. 6.9 million.

NBC is #2 for the night in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and all other key ratings categories. 
 
In Late-Night Local People Meters Tuesday night:

Conan O’Brien (1.0/4 in 18-49 in local people meters) tied CBS’s LATE SHOW (1.0/5) in Nielsen’s 24 local markets with People Meters.

At 12:35 a.m., Jimmy Fallon (0.6/3 in 18-49 in local people meters) topped CBS’s original LATE LATE SHOW (0.5/3).
